Defiance Health was founded in Alamosa by Jessica Lara, PA-C — a board-certified Physician Assistant with over 12 years of clinical experience. Jessica built this practice on a straightforward belief: patients in the San Luis Valley deserve the same quality of specialty care that's available in Denver, Colorado Springs, or any major metro.
The Alamosa clinic is the original Defiance Health location and remains the heart of the practice. Jessica continues to see patients here and leads the clinical team across both the Alamosa and Centennial locations. Every provider at Defiance Health shares her philosophy — treat the root cause, not just the symptoms, and never rush a patient.
What started as a single-provider clinic has grown into a multi-location practice serving patients across four states via telehealth. But the mission hasn't changed: personalized, evidence-based care that puts the patient first.

We're located in downtown Alamosa at 315 Edison Ave, Suite B — easy to find and conveniently positioned for patients coming from anywhere in the San Luis Valley.
From Monte Vista / Del Norte (west): Head east on US-160 into Alamosa. Turn right on Edison Ave — we're on the left side in Suite B.
From Antonito / La Jara (south): Take US-285 north into Alamosa. Follow Main Street and turn left on Edison Ave.
From Saguache / Crestone (north): Head south on CO-17 into Alamosa. Turn right toward downtown and find us on Edison Ave.
Parking: Free street parking is available directly in front of the clinic and throughout downtown Alamosa.
